Our Intent
An All School Write is an opportunity for Blakely students to answer an important question. It provides a forum for sharing our thoughts and opinions with each other. This fall students will be answering the question, "Water: Why is it Important?" Having a rich conversation about the value of water can bring us together and remind us of our collective responsibility in conserving it. We hope to amplify and deepen our students’ belief that water is a precious resource.
|
The entire staff and every Blakely student participates in our biannual All School Writes. We also encourage parents to write. Teachers will be sharing non-fictional and fictional content about water. Most of the chosen books and media emphasize the life-sustaining capacity of this limited resource. The written products will be age-appropriate and will range from labeled pictures to multi-paragraph essays. Examples of students' writing from all grades will be posted on the website and in the hallways. We will study and write. Then we will read, learn, and celebrate.
